What does the Chamber do for my business?

100% Tax Deductible! Did you know that the MACC membership dues are 100% tax deductible as a business expense? For more information, ask the MACC Staff.

Business Referrals. The MACC office receives calls each day for business referrals. Chamber members are at the top of the list. Also, free display space is available for business cards and brochures in our lobby.

Membership Labels. Get your message directly in the hands of business owners. Membership labels are free to chamber members. Cost to non-members is $175.

Chamber Bucks. Keeping money in Miami to be spent at your business. Chamber bucks can be purchased at the MACC for employee bonuses, gifts or recognition. Chamber bucks act the same as cash.

Chamber Newsletter. Bi-monthly you will receive a newsletter informing you of chamber events, news and more! If you have news about your business that you would like to share with the membership, please submit it to info@miamiokchamber.com.

Monday Morning Memo. Each Monday morning you will receive a short e-mail newsltter detailing upcoming Chamber, business and community events.

Economic Impact through Visitors, New Residents and New Businesses. The MACC is usually the first place a tourist, new resident or business prospect will stop. The MACC becomes the community's spokesperson and business partner in providing the necessary information and promotion of the community.

Get Involved! With your support and help the MACC hosts several popular events each year. Please refer to the 2007 Program of Work. If you would like to be a part of any of these committees, call the MACC at 918.542.4481.

Become an Ambassador. Ambassadors are always needed to welcome new Chamber members, attend ribbon-cutting ceremonies and congratulate the Friendliest Employees and Project Pride winners each month.

Retail Council. Area retailers, merchants and service providers meet monthly to discuss the challenges they face and work to provide opportunities and special promotions to keep citizens shopping in Miami. Bring your ideas and input! Retail Council meetings are the second Monday of each month at the MACC conference room.

MAEDS & MDA. Miami Development Authority and the Miami Area Economic Development Services assist existing businesses and attract new industry and retail to create expanded employment for the area, resulting in an improved quality of life. Grand Lake Manufacturing Council (GLMC). Get your industry involved with GLMC. It is great networking opportunity that provides valuable information for your business. Contact the MACC for more information.

Business & Profile Directory. Your business will be listed in our directory that comes out once a month. Your business also gets the opportunity to advertise in the directory. Non-chamber members are not aloud to advertise. Only 1,500 are printed and given out to other prospective businesses or manufacturers interested in locating to Miami.

Project Pride. Your business is eligible to win Project Pride, which is an award for those businesses that make improvements to their businesses on the outside or inside.

Business After Hours. Chamber members have the opportunity to host Business After Hours. This event is free of charge. Just sign up through the Chamber. Business After Hours are held once a month. Make sure to attend the functions to take advantage of network opportunities!

Leadership Miami. The Chamber puts on an 8 day class to train leaders in the area about the great town we live in. It is also a networking opportunity…15 people are allowed in each class. Field trips are taken to Pensacola Dam, Newell-Coach, JM Farms, and other area businesses. The cost of this class is $175.

Chamber Board of Directors Meetings. All chamber members are invited to attend our monthly board meetings. This is a great way to stay informed in MACC happenings. The board meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7:45 a.m. in the MACC boardroom. The Board of Directors does not have a formal meeting in November and December of each year.

Quality of Life Events. The Miami Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau host several quality of life events over the course of a year such as the Heart of America Rodeo, Christmas Parade, Spend To Win, and 8-Man All Star Game. These events bring people to our area spending money in local stores, restaurants and hotels.
